DESCRIPTION:The Circolo Abruzzese of Vancouver will be celebrating this years Father’s Day dinner at the Taste of Abruzzo. Join us at the Italian Cultural Centre. \nFor those of you who do not know\, Father’s Day in Italy is celebrated on March 19th which is the day of St Joseph\, the putative father of Jesus. \nIf you would like to to join us\, please secure your tickets by March 8th. \nFor all fathers who are members of the Circolo Abruzzese club\, tickets are only $20 as the club will be covering $50 of the cost of your ticket. \nSpouses and children are welcome. Tickets for adults are $70 and for kids under 12 tickets are $30. \nDrinks will be available for purchase when doors and bar open at 6:00 pm. Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. \nOur bar will be open until 9:30 PM. A perfect opportunity to savour your favourite drinks. \n  \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Photo source: italianday.ca\nHeld annually on the second Sunday of June and identified in the City of Vancouver’s list of Official Observances and Celebrations under June’s Italian Heritage Month umbrella\, Italian Day on The Drive is a vibrant cultural street festival celebrating Italian culture\, heritage and community. The event includes over 100+ street participants\, comprised of partners\, vendors\, community organizations – and an estimated 300\,000 attendees of all ages and cultures. The festival is held on Commercial Drive (The Drive)\, home to Little Italy\, where the street is transformed into a lively 14 block festa. Since Italian Day’s return in 2010\, the event today represents the largest one day cultural street festival in Vancouver. A festive community embrace\, The Drive comes alive in with piazza style animated zones\, live music\, food vendors\, patios\, lifestyle attractions\, family fun activities and more. \nThe event serves to also honour the history and contributions of Italian immigrants who came to Vancouver with nothing but a suitcase to make a better life for their families. The evening was complemented by an array of delectable dishes representing various Italian provinces\, including Calabria\, Friuli\, Sicily\, and Abruzzo\, with the Italian Centre serving mouthwatering pasta and risotto. \nExploring History and Significance:\nGuests at the event were treated to insightful presentations on the historical background of La Festa della Repubblica\, emphasizing its importance in embracing democracy\, freedom\, and national unity. The celebration symbolizes Italy’s journey as a republic\, honouring the sacrifices made for independence and celebrating progress as a united nation. \nEnchanting Performances:\nAn enchanting Soprano Opera Singer captivated the audience with her powerful and emotive performance\, evoking Italy’s rich artistic heritage.
